AUG 1---GOM-BSNL & MTNL--- REVIEW MEETING [MEDIA NEWS]

       The Group of Ministers on the revival of  BSNL and MTNL  

is likely to focus on spectrum-related issues

 at its meeting scheduled for August 1.

                   Spectrum related issues include demand by these public sector units for refund of their wireless broadband airwaves that can be used for 4G services and one-time spectrum charge levied on them for holding airwaves beyond the allocation made to them with licences.

          BSNL and MTNL were asked to pay Rs 8,313.8 crore and Rs 4,533.97 crore, respectively on June 20, 2010 for the broadband airwaves. One-time fee for BSNL’s GSM spectrum amounts to around Rs 6,912 crore and MTNL Rs 3,205 crore.

                These two issues of both the PSUs jointly account for Rs 22,964 crore.

        MTNL net loss widened to Rs 5,321.12 crore for the financial year 2012-13 compared with Rs 4,109.78 crore in FY’12. BSNL losses, as per unaudited results, stood at Rs 8,198 crore for 2012-13 compared with Rs 8,851 crore posted in 2011-12.

SNEA India news:-

          Regarding the proposed agitation by AIGETOA, GS clarified

 that there was no discussion within UF or with SNEA(I) for a joint

struggle. This agitation call was purely their internal decision.

          AIGETOA sought the support of SNEA(I) on 24^th July and

 on 25^th itself, we written to the CMD/BSNL demanding expeditious

resolution of the cadre issues by serious discussions and further

extending moral support to the agitation.

Income tax –media news:-

Returns of income above Rs.5 lakhs have to be efiled online mandatorily.

          Even if the income is below Rs.5 lakhs, salaried persons have to file IT returns for the financial year 2012-13 (Assessment year 2013-14) & the last date for filing of IT returns is 31.07.2013

                     In Our  GS Lr.,   to CMD  BSNL-  Important points

                     Request to immediately resolve very important issues of standard IDA pay scales of E2 and E3, introduction of mechanism of CPSU cadre hierarchy and 30% superannuation benefits to employees recruited in BSNL

               JTOs recruited from 2007 onwards are the worst sufferers and victims of the apathy of the Management because of non settlement of standard IDA pay scales. Similarly on extending 30% superannuation benefits to recruits of BSNL, there is already an understanding with the Forum of BSNL Associations/Unions. This is also getting delayed for no reasons.

                 SNEA(I) extends moral support to the struggle launched by AIGETOA for resolution of above  issues.

CHQ NEWS:

SDE (T) to Adhoc DE promotion 

          and postings: 

       GS and President met Director (HR) and requested

 re allotment for KTK, CHTD, STR, UP(E) and TN circles considering the large scale dislocation from these circles. 

               Further held discussions with Sr. GM(Pers.) on posting and re allotment in these circles. 

             We brought to the notice of the BSNL management that roster is not maintained while posting in these circles; As a result none of the ST comrades got posting in these circles. 

                 BSNL management informed that they strictly followed roster for the DEs posted out side circle as done in previous occasions.                                                  Association requested to consider re allotment based on roster to these circles.

1966 case came up for hearing today 
at Hon.CAT Hyderabad and posted
 on 30-07-2013.

Forum of BSNL unions and Associations has decided to organise Badge wearing and Demonstration on 25th July at Circle / SSA headquarters protesting against the decision to increase FDI in Telecom and Defence sectors demanding that the decision be dropped forthwith.  Make the programme a great and resounding success.
