Indefinite strike w.e. from 12^th June, 2013 demanding 78.2% IDA merger for 100% neutralization.

Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations met at New Delhi on 06.06.2013 and reviewed the preparations for the indefinite strike w.e.f 12.06.2013. Forum appealed to all the activists to intensify the mobilization for the strike by door to door campaign, gate meetings etc in the next few days. As a last mobilization programe, lunch hour demonstrations and gate meetings has to be held throughout the country on 11.06.2013. Press conference and press release has to be done at different levels on 10^th and 11^th.

The strike will start at 0600 Hrs on 12.06.2013.

Comrades, it is a do or die situation for all the employees, irrespective of grade or category. Let us fight together to end the discrimination, to end the humiliation.

Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations meeting with Secretary, DoT: 

Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations leaders met Sri M. F. Farooqui, Secretary, DoT today, 06.06.2013 and submitted copy of memorandum already submitted to the GoM on the revival and revitalization of BSNL and MTNL, the strategic Telecom PSUs and discussed the salient points.

Thereafter, the leaders solicited the intervention of Sec/DoT for an early resolution of 78.2% IDA merger for 100% IDA neutralization as on 01.01.2007. Secy/DoT was very much concerned about the indefinite strike w.e.f 12.06.2013 as GoM are meeting on 11.6.2013 to discuss the revival of BSNL and MTNL. 

We explained that the Govt orders on 78.2% IDA merger for 100% IDA neutralization was issued 4 years back and an agreement was signed on 12.06.2012 between Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations with BSNL Management. The BSNL Board proposal is pending with DoT for the last 9 months. There was no need to refer it to BRPSE for comments as BRPSE had already clarified to us that since BSNL is not a sick PSU, consultation with BRPSE not at all required. In order to delay the order, some officers in DoT are intentionally doing all these things. 

We also requested to use his good office to get the comments from BRPSE at the earliest for early settlement of the issue in order to avoid unrest in BSNL. Secy/DoT categorically told that the agreement signed with the BSNL Management will be implemented. He assured that he will try to resolve the issue at the earliest and may meet the leaders again in a couple of days. GS and President represented SNEA(I) in this meeting.

Comrades, we have to continue the preparations for successful implementation of indefinite strike call w.e.f. 12.06.2013 till the issue is resolved favorably.
